The Damage is Done

It doesn't matter. The damage has been done. The state got what it wanted: the DNA of the people, breaking up the families, and being a bully who can strong-arm anyone without a cause. Not to mention that this fiasco showed once again how domicile and duped the American public is: just toss a few "interviews" of goofy-looking polygamists on Good Morning America, and the viewing public are putty in the hands of social engineers. It was a masterful move.

What Your State Education Is Really For

"A really efficient totalitarian state would be one in which the all-powerful executive of political bosses and their army of managers control a population of slaves who do not have to be coerced, because they love their servitude. To make them love it is the task assigned, in present-day totalitarian states, to ministries of propaganda, newspaper editors and schoolteachers.... The greatest triumphs of propaganda have been accomplished, not by doing something, but by refraining from doing. Great is truth, but still greater, from a practical point of view, is silence about truth."

"A general State education is a mere contrivance for moulding people to be exactly like one another; and as the mould in which it casts them is that which pleases the dominant power in the government, whether this be a monarch, an aristocracy, or a majority of the existing generation; in proportion as it is efficient and successful, it establishes a despotism over the mind, leading by a natural tendency to one over the body."

New York's Gun Rights Gone Wrong

Next to confiscating all firearms from New York citizens, I didn't think the state could restrict our Second Amendment rights any more than it has. But I am wrong.

Gov. David Paterson introduced legislation Monday that would allow the state to tell the FBI if a New Yorker trying to buy a gun has been involuntarily committed to a mental health facility.

The proposal would disqualify those applicants from getting a gun, but federal law would require states to create a way for people to apply to remove their name from the registry.

The legislation is a reaction to the Virginia Tech tragedy last year, when a mentally ill student shot 32 people dead, then killed himself.

I hate legislated "reactions." Even more, I hate the merging of state and local "databases."

Paterson's proposal would also require state and local law enforcement agencies to give state police certain crime scene ballistic evidence related to a homicide, an attempted homicide or a conspiracy to commit a homicide.

Investigators could then compare that evidence with the state's Combined Ballistic Identification System database for links to other crimes.

They are just getting ready to sew up the bag, aren't they?

I have no agenda here, by the way, save for the defense of our continually assaulted Bill of Rights. It is a disgrace that we the people are so willingly bowing our knees to this increasingly fascist and tyrannical bent in government.

The Atheist Rap

I stand corrected.

I once believed that "rap" as a form of art was wasteful, illogical, and barbaric. I now see that rap music (that most moronic of oxymorons), like so many other chaotic forms of expression, can serve a glorious purpose when used wisely.

Enjoi.

The Only Foundation of a Free Constitution...

"Statesmen, my dear Sir, may plan and speculate for Liberty, but it is Religion and Morality alone, which can establish the Principles upon which Freedom can securely stand.... The only foundation of a free Constitution, is pure Virtue, and if this cannot be inspired into our People, in a great Measure, than they have it now, They may change their Rulers, and the forms of Government, but they will not obtain a lasting Liberty."

The Olympics in China: It's For the Children

This gives a completely new light on the liberal mantra, "It's For The Children."

BEIJING (Reuters) - An outbreak of a virus that has killed dozens of children across China may be yet to reach its peak, but will not threaten Beijing's Olympic Games in August, the World Health Organisation (WHO) said on Monday.

Health authorities in China have been battling to contain EV71, an intestinal virus that has killed 22 children in Fuyang, a city in China's eastern Anhui province, and caused at least two deaths in southern Guangdong province.

EV71 has also been traced in outbreaks of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) in Hunan, Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, that have infected thousands of children across China.

Of course it won't threaten the Olympics! Do or die, vegemite or no, the Olympics in China MUST go on!

There is no vaccine or antiviral agent available to treat EV71, a non-polio enterovirus which is spread mostly through contact with infected blisters or faeces and can cause high fever, paralysis and swelling of the brain.

Emphasis on do or DIE.

Is it all really, really worth it?

Listen to Bo, Now

"...A spider web of 'patriots for profit', operating from the highest
positions of special trust and confidence, have successfully
circumvented our constitutional system in pursuit of a New World Order.
They have infused America with drugs in order to fund covert operations
while sealing the fate of our servicemen left in communist prisons."

"It is also important for the State to inculcate in its subjects an aversion to any outcropping of what is now called 'a conspiracy theory of history.' For a search for 'conspiracies,' as misguided as the results often are, means a search for motives, and an attribution of individual responsibility for the historical misdeeds of ruling elites. If, however, any tyranny or venality, or aggressive war imposed by the State was brought about not by particular State rulers but by mysterious and arcane 'social forces,' or by the imperfect state of the world -- or if, in some way, everyone was guilty -- then there is no point in anyone's becoming indignant or rising up against such misdeeds. Furthermore, a discrediting of 'conspiracy theories' will make the subjects more likely to believe the 'general welfare' reasons that are invariably put forth by the modern State for engaging in aggressive actions."
