AIG's Most Famous Bonus Receiver
Well, how odd, I didn't see this in the network news. Amidst all the hype about the AIG bailout money going for contractual bonuses to people, no one said anything about the most famous person who got a bonus.
Barack Obama.
Oh yes. Didn't you know? Didn't you hear that on ABC?
Senator Barack Obama received a $101,332 bonus from American International Group in the form of political contributions according to Opensecrets.org. The two biggest Congressional recipients of bonuses from the A.I.G. are - Senators Chris Dodd and Senator Barack Obama.
The A.I.G. Financial Products affiliate of A.I.G. gave out $136,928, the most of any AIG affiliate, in the 2008 cycle. I would note that A.I.G.’s financial products division is the unit that wrote trillions of dollars’ worth of credit-default swaps and "misjudged" the risk.
I'm not defending AIG. And I'm certainly not defending our completely corrupt government and its completely tyrannical governmental system.
What I am defending is the truth. That truth that seems to matter less and less to Americans with their "a chicken in every pot!" mentality, and does not matter AT ALL to any else.

I just "happened" across it myself and posted about it on Wednesday. I have a link to the full list - including showing Dodd as the #1 bonus receiver.

They're all a bunch of weasels up there!
What the hell does Barack Obama getting a campaign contribution from AIG before Aig recieved any bailout money have to do with the AIG exec's getting bonuses from tax payer bailout money? You neo-cons are always trying to make something out of nothing.
Bob - seriously? That's okay you widdle wiberal. You just keep your head buried in the sand!
Well, gee, Bob, maybe AIG got their bailout because Obama got his campaign contribution?
I can't prove it, of course, but on the flip side - I didn't contribute to his campaign and I haven't gotten a bailout.
