FFQF: We Surround Them!

"If ever time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin." Samuel Adams

"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." Samuel Adams

"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds." Samuel Adams

I've discovered an impressive radio show, The Glenn Beck Show. I don't have a great deal of opportunity to extensively listen to him in the morning, but I've been making it a point to tune him in before my day starts. It's an outstanding show. Beck spends a good deal of time defending the solid principles that formed our country and made it great. I've been to his website to see his 9 Principles, 12 Values list. Oustanding!

1. America is good.

2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

12 Values
Honesty
Reverence
Hope
Thrift
Humility
Charity
Sincerity
Moderation
Hard Work
Courage
Personal Responsibility
Gratitude

I am extremely gratified and encouraged. I am tying this in with the Favorite Founding Fathers' Quote Friday because everything in the 9 Principles, 12 Values is a great deal like the Friends of Liberty Precepts, and everything like what the Founding Fathers told us about their intent and purpose. I recommend that you investigate the Beck website and his show. And perhaps get a t-shirt or two.

Great post. I'm glad you could participate early today! :)

Great quotes by Sam Adams, and great list of principles! (I might switch the order of the first two, though.)

    I like the T-shirt. :)

    Happy FFQF!

What an inspiration! I am darn near speechless in as much as your quote(s) for today are so spot on that they should cause the 'greatest' of gov't men tremble; yet, they don't. Something tells me they're going to learn (as Paul says, 'to suffer').

I wanted to compliment you also on the layout and post-up of your site; it is gorgeous!

Still writing mine, but I got a great inspiration from yours! Cheers!
