How To Tell If You're a Spineless Sap Willing to Crouch Down and Lick the Tyrants' Hands That Feed You
If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.
Samuel Adams

This quote by Samuel Adams, one of America's greatest men, is coming in very handy this week. I refer to my posts about the news reports of another new document for law enforcement officials: How To Profile a Domestic Terrorist.
In the spirit of wise old Sam, I've decided to come up with my OWN profiling document. Feel free to pass it along, particularly to law enforcement officials.
How To Tell If You're a Spineless Sap Willing to Crouch Down and Lick the Tyrants' Hands That Feed You
- Do you believe that "the American people" are a bunch of panicky whiners, ready to riot the moment catastrophe (or presumed catastrophe) strikes?
- Do you believe that the government schools can do a better job of raising and educating children than the children's parents?
- Do you believe in Darwinian evolution?
- Do you believe that Christians are narrow-minded bigots?
- Do you believe that the Constitution is a "living, breathing" document and that its interpretation should not be based on original intent?
- Do you believe that humankind has progressed since those dusty old days of the 1700s?
- Are you in favor of aborting innocent life but are not in favor of capital punishment for criminals?
- Do you believe the New York Times' claim that they publish "All the news that's fit to print"?
- Are you in favor of the Fairness Doctrine?
- Have you ever listened and stayed awake during an Al Franken or Randi Rhodes radio broadcast?
- Have you ever supported the Socialist Workers, Green, or Working Party parties?
- Did you or do you believe that when Obama says "change," he means it, whatever "change" means?
- Do you believe in gun control?
- Do you believe the official government reports on the JFK assassination, Waco, or 9/11?
- Do you believe the U.S. should not enforce its immigration laws?
- Do you believe the government should enforce a policy of volunteer community service?
- Do you believe in pre-K, Head Start, or infant education?
- Are you willing to be "chipped" with the RFID, for your own safety?
- Are you willing to give up liberty for material gain and/or safety?
- Do you think you are better informed and more intelligent than the "average" American?
- Do you believe that the U.S. government meant well with bailing out the financial sector and banks; that they just blundered the job?
- Do you think that people who are conspiracy nuts should get psychiatric evaluation?
- Do you think that recycling and saving the rainforests makes you a better human being?
- Do you consider yourself a citizen of the world?
- Are you depressed most of the time?
Hope this helps. Profiling based on thoughts, behavior, and religious and political affinity is very helpful-- after all, the government says so.
[This post probably will incur the guillotine for me in the U.S. Concentration Camp Facility].

Cato:
Great Sam Adams quote - he's turned into one of my favorites of the Founding Fathers.
It looks like you are describing much of America today - not only a spineless sap, but a brainwashed sap as well.
Thanks for the enlightening post.
Hmmm ... I don't think I'm a spineless sap, but I'll have to go figure out who Al Franken and Randi Rhodes are to be sure. Not knowing probably gets me points, though, eh?
As usual, Cato, your sarcasm competes with my own. :)
This is a great FFQF post, Cato! The list is excellent. And amusing.
Yeah, I don't know who Al Franken and Rhandi Rhodes are either ...
Thanks for participating today.
Happy FFQF! :)
